Team SoloMid eliminated Selfless from the MLG Americas Regional Minor after winning the lower bracket final 2-0 (16-13 on Train and 19-17 on Cobblestone).
Before the upper bracket final between OpTic and Tempo Storm of the MLG Americas Regional Minor could commence, and thus determine the first team to qualify for the ESL One Cologne qualifier, the lower bracket final of the event played out between TSM and Selfless.
TSM's 17-year-old fragger Hunter "SicK" Mims was a dynamo on the first map of Train, finishing 28-20 with 98.4 ADR as the Canadian-American team won the map 16-13.
The Train win hinged on a first half that saw TSM finish with a 10-5 scoreline (fairly moderate for CT-sides on the map) and then simply edge out Michael "MAiNLiNE" Jaber & co. of Selfless on the rounds that mattered in the second half, thus giving TSM a better economic situation and the ability to continue executes with moderate utility. In the end, TSM picked up the six rounds required to close out the map.

The second map took place on Cobblestone, which was coincidentally TSM's map pick, and it yet again looked to be a case of "map vetoes in NA gone wrong" as, following a 10-5 T-side half by Selfless, Michael "Uber" Stapells and teammates pulled ahead to as far as 15-9 before TSM began to inch their way back into the series.
As many began to expect given Selfless' tendency to struggle in crucial moments in offline games (with a few players still accruing LAN experience), the map ultimately went into overtime and in the end TSM proved to have the better head for the game as they took the map 19-17 and knocked Selfless out in fourth place at the Minor.
